BACKGROUND:
Susan's pre-film history isn't too well fleshed out, so I've expanded her backstory with some details from the Fantastic Four comics.

Susan Storm was born in Glenville, Long Island, New York to Doctor Franklin and Mary Storm. From an early age, Sue demonstrated a natural curiosity and love of biology, which her physician father encouraged her to pursue. When Sue was six years old, her brother Johnny was born, and the family lived the life of domestic bliss for a few more years. Unfortunately their father had a drinking problem and was responsible for their mother being killed in a car accident when Sue and Johnny were still very young. Franklin Storm was sent to prison, the family was left financially ruined, and the children were sent to live with their grandmother.

Sue never lost her love of learning, however, and at age 17 she was accepted to Massachusetts Institute of Technology to study biology and genetics. While at MIT, she met and fell in love with fellow student Reed Richards. The geeky pair seemed perfect for one another and dated throughout college before deciding to break up.  After graduating, Susan accepted a position at Von Doom Industries, working with Victor Von Doom as one of his chief scientific advisors.

Sue and Johnny, now a pilot for NASA, accompanied Reed Richards, Victor Von Doom, and their old friend Ben Grimm on a space mission to test Reed's theories regarding the relationship between human evolution and cosmic activities. The tension between Reed, Sue, and Victor was incredibly awkward, especially after Victor proposed marriage to Susan.

Due to a miscalculation on Reed's part, the cosmic clouds the quintet were due to observe materialized ahead of schedule, and the ensuing radiation storm nearly killed them all. The space station crashed to earth and Sue, Reed, Johnny, and Ben were put in quarantine until medical tests could be completed on them.

As it turned out, the solar storm granted them all superhuman abilities. Susan was able to make herself invisible, her powers triggered whenever she felt intense emotions. And it turned out that the other members of the space mission all had powers too. Reed, Sue, and Johnny still looked like normal humans, but Ben had turned into a gigantic orange rock creature.

The four of them had their first adventure using their powers when they rescued people from a bridge explosion. Sue also learned that she could create forcefields during the rescue, and the media dubbed them the Fantastic Four and Sue is given the moniker Invisible Woman. After being rejected by his fiancee, Ben joined the others at Reed's lab in the Baxter Building in hopes of working out a cure for their newfound conditions. Reed wished to recreate the storm artificially, and he and Sue began working together in the laboratory to find a solution. Over time, they began to rekindle their romantic relationship.

Meanwhile Victor's own powers were manifesting in the form of electrical manipulation, as well as facial deformities. He donned a metal mask and began attempting to sabotage Reed's plans in revenge. He convinced Ben that Sue and Reed didn't want to cure him, and he attacked and nearly killed Johnny with a missile. Susan faced off against Doom on her own, using her forcefield powers against him in combat. Unfortunately, he was too strong for her to defeat on her own. It wasn't until all four of them squared off against Doom that they were able to put him into thermal shock. The Fantastic Four are once again hailed as heroes and are surrounded by cheering fans, and it is immediately following this that Sue is ported into the City.

PERSONALITY:
From the beginning, Sue was always your typical pretty, smart girl. She knows she is attractive and therefore could skate by in life just on that. But she also has intelligence and wit, and she doesn't mind at all when people underestimate her or write her off as just another pretty face. Rather, she enjoys proving their assumptions wrong. The same could be said about her powers. She was initially dismissed by her brother as having a weak, useless power, but she has proved time and time again that she is their equal and is just as important as the other members of the Four.

Following the death of her own mother, and the loss of her father to alcohol and prison, Sue's nurturing nature became apparent early on. She is family oriented, and views the FF as her family, and as such, she often takes on the role of den mother to the team, doting over Reed and Johnny, and over Ben, whom she views as a brother as well. She's often the voice of humanity in the wild world that is the Fantastic Four, balancing out the other three. She's often been called the heart of the Fantastic Four, but really she is the glue that holds them together.

Sue can be selfish at times, self-centered even, at times getting caught up in her own wants and desires too deeply to realize how her actions will effect those around her. She can be petty and manipulative, and she sometimes nags and comes off as shrill.  She has a sense of humor, but it's not all that great and her jokes sometimes fall flat.  She is a perfectionist and can be controlling in that way. Her way is the best way, she can be very stubborn. Her strong-will is often a point of contention between herself and Reed. She doesn't like being controlled or told what to do.

She isn't afraid to voice her opinion, and she is not afraid to stand up for what she believes is right. She is a champion to the underdog, she believes in protecting the weak, and while she was at first upset over becoming a media figure and public superhero, Sue has come to embrace her role in the world. Still, she longs for privacy and for a normal existence. She never wanted to have powers or to be a superhero, she just wanted to pursue her career in science.

POWER:
Sue's canon abilities are invisibility and psionic forcefield generation. She can render herself or parts of herself fully invisible at will. She can also render other people or objects invisible. Sue can shape her psionic force fields into invisible constructs, usually simple shapes such as barriers, columns, cones, or more complex constructs such as stairs or stepping discs. By generating additional force behind her psionic constructs, Sue can turn them into offensive weapons, ranging from massive invisible battering rams to small projectiles
